Off to lunch again with this beautiful view. I love it so much here!

Spit Roast Party
Another birthday celebration, this time with a spit roast at its center. As you can see, the lamb was completely demolished and was very tasty indeed! It was a warm day but did start to get a bit cooler when the sun went down, so Carol decided she'd dress up as if she was going sailing! There was a sweepstake for Cox's Plate horse race which I came second in an got slightly over excited about the fact that I was $1 up on my original stake. I'd clearly make a shocking poker player!

Pink Night
I was invited to another 'Pink Night' by a colleague. So having had such a brilliant night at the pink quiz, I thought it would be a fantastic night. It was in a church which was fine & we were greeted with pink lemonade (a new concept to me!)
The evening was started off by a singer with a beautiful voice singing quite religious songs. There was a variety of acts who all great singers and musicians. We decided to leave after I had popped to the bathroom and read a sign over the mirror about the righteous not wearing uniforms. This was not really something I wanted to be part of - making judgements about whole groups of people.

More Birthday Celebrations
Another birthday celebration! This time, Robyne's 50th. Gee - what a life I lead down here. Love it soooo much! After 'High Tea' at The Grande down at Glenelg, we went for drinks in the bar. The sun was setting over the sea through the window, a stunning setting.
The only downside to this celebration was that it was on a Sunday evening which, of course meant that Monday at school was pretty tough as I was rather tired having missed my bedtime by a couple of hours once I got home. Still, it was worth it and a great night was had by all.

We Won!!!!
Went to a quiz night with some of the lovely ladies from work which was in aid of breast cancer. When we got there, we each had a little gift pack containing some useful pink items. 100 questions on all manner of subjects gave our brains a good work out. There were raffles and sales going on and we were all very disappointed when no-one on our table won anything in the raffle. We were one of about 24 tables, each with 10 ladies on (we only had 9). We won the whole quiz by 1 point! We got 87 of the questions correct and came away with wine, chocolates, lipsticks, DVDs & CDs. A fantastic end to a great night. It wasn't so fantastic when we left the building though to realise that we'd gone out of the wrong side of the building and couldn't find the car!

Birthday Celebrations
I have been neglecting the blog recently as I've been out having so much fun. Went to a lovely pub in Norwood to celebrate Adrian's 40th birthday. The food was delicious and as you can see, fun was had by all. The food was delicious and the gang were great company. I think there may even be some romance happening with a couple of the group which is quite exciting!
It's really beginning to warm up now. The springtime in Adelaide is very changeable though and it often changes form 28 degrees to 14 within a few days.

Seacliffe
Went
out for dinner on Saturday night with a group of people who I've met,
had an absolutely lovely time. I ate a bit of kangaroo which was
delicious and priced very reasonably. These pictures were the view from
just outside the restaurant. Stunning!
What
a giggle was had by all. I've been surprised this week to hear the
phrase 'feeling like a shag on a rock' this week which, tickled me.
Luckily, it was used to say what the person would feel like if something
happened, they weren't feeling like one. There's no chance of me
feeling like that with all the great friends I've made. Fun times with good friends, delicious food. Below the gorgeous Marian, music teacher extraordinaire.
The only thing I don't like about Australia is the poisonous animals. Just after getting some washing in the other night, I noticed a red lump on my arm. By morning, it looked like this. The many doctors at CLG persuaded me to go to a real doctor who confirmed that it could be any of the above or a bee! Itches like mad & is boiling. Have a script for antibiotics but don't want to take them unless I have to so will give it a few days & see if it settles.

Back to Adelaide
Once again, my second flight was half empty so I moved to a window seat and managed to get some great snaps of Adelaide surrounds and city.
To get to the house from the airport means getting a bus into the city and one out of the other side again all for the bargain price of $3. When I arrived in the city after my flight, I found that half of it was closed off and full of zombies! Apparently the event is an annual fundraiser for teenagers. The event went on for ages, the bus was about 15 minutes late and then had to take a detour as the walk was still happening!

Salamanca Market
A storm overnight, during which, I thought the roof was going to come
down, a tree did fall down on the driveway. It took all afternoon to
chop it down (thankfully I didn't have to do it).
The lovely Salamanca Market has loads of stalls with everything from handmade soaps and candles, pickles & honeys to the cute owl bags on the right.

Walks in Tassie
A two minute walk from the house gives rise to views like this.
Beautiful sunshine, fresh air and this view - who could ask for anything
else?
Taking Steel, the puppy, and the pushchair along the rough roadside path is a bit of a challenge. He is an incredibly friendly dog who wants to say hello to all the wildlife in Tassie, including the dead ones that we found in the bushes.
All was forgiven when he managed to find this sleeping echidna at beside a tree. I managed to keep him from waking it as I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted a nose full of prickles. The animal was definitely alive though, its breathing was clearly visible - cute!

Beautiful baby
Just 5 weeks old - sucking his thumb in the car seat. He is adorable!
The prime reason for going to Tassie was to visit my friend's new baby. At just 5 weeks old, he took up lots of mum and dad's attention and was a very hungry little man.
As you can see, he is very cute & I made sure I got lots of cuddles (and sick on all my clothes) while I was there.

Tassie bound
Getting to Tasmania from Adelaide is a bit of a trek as there are no direct flights, you have to change planes in Melbourne. If I'd thought about things a little better, I would have given myself a day or two in Melbourne but as it happened, I had just a couple of hours. The flight from Melbourne to Hobart had lots of empty seats so when we had taken off, I moved into a window seat & was lucky enough to enjoy some beautiful views of Tasmania during the landing including Seven Mile Beach. As you can see, Tasmania is a beautiful island.

Deleted Post
I've managed to delete the last post from the blog whilst trying to enable comments. The good news is that I think I've enabled comments so please feel free to comment on the blog. The bad news is, I think I'll have to re-do the last blog as it seems to have vanished!
I'll update the blog with my adventures over in Tasmania this week too!
